Founded by Colin Chapman in 1948, Lotus is a British automotive manufacturer of high-performance sports cars and electric vehicles. In May 2017, Chinese multinational Geely acquired a controlling stake in Lotus. In January 2021, Geely announced a joint venture with Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance and their Alpine division to develop a range of electric performance cars.
