Considering fuel economy, the Escape offers a variety of engine options: a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower, a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to create a combined 200 horsepower, plug-in hybrid a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 210 system hp between the engine and battery and a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Hybrid engines provide a continuously variable transmission, while gasoline engines are paired with eight-speed automatic transmissions. Depending on the trim, the towing capacity of the 2024 Ford Escape ranges from 1,500 to 3,500 lbs.
